Viva Leisure is seeking an enthusiastic Club Manager for our Palmerston club on a 6 month fixed term basis to cover parental leave. Lead the team, drive engagement, grow memberships, and deliver exceptional member experiences while maintaining operational excellence.

Qualifications

• First Aid and CPR certification required or willingness to obtain.
• Proven knowledge and passion for the fitness industry.
• Experience in sales and customer service, ideally in fitness or retail.
• Demonstrated people management and leadership experience.
• Ability to meet sales targets with a results-driven mindset.
• Strong communication and leadership to engage staff and clients.
• Ability to drive operational excellence and manage multiple priorities.
• Role model Viva values and professional conduct.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Drive new member sign-ups, manage renewals, and implement strategies to enhance member satisfaction and retention
• Ensure all members and guests receive high-quality service; handle complaints and feedback promptly and professionally
• Maintain high standard of operational procedures. Manage administration, auditing and organisation of the club, ensuring all areas are clean, safe, and fully operational
• Ensure all activities, equipment, and facilities comply with health and safety regulations and industry standards
• Recruit, train, schedule and manage in club staff; ensure high team performance and morale
• Plan and execute local marketing campaigns, community engagement events, and promotions to increase visibility and attract new members
• Oversee the development and scheduling of fitness programs and classes, ensuring they meet member needs and industry trends

SKILLS &QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with:

• Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness toobtain)
• Strong knowledge of and a passion for the FitnessIndustry
• Experience in sales and customer service, ideally withinthe fitness or retail sectors
• Demonstrated people management and team leadershipexperience
• Proven sales aptitude with a results-driven mindset andability to meet targets
