Empowered Recruitment in Townsville is seeking a Safety Advisor for civil construction projects. You’ll provide practical safety guidance on site, help crews work safely and maintain records in line with client and company requirements.

Key duties include site inspections, inductions, toolbox talks, reviewing risk assessments and SWMS, incident investigations and reporting, plus building strong relationships that encourage early hazard reporting.

Formación

• Experience as Safety Advisor or similar in civil construction.
• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent.
• Understanding of risks from mobile plant, earthworks, excavation and services.
• Confidence communicating with operators, subcontractors and management.
• Proactive, pragmatic and able to follow through.
• Construction White Card and current driver’s licence.

Join an established civil contractor delivering civil packages on some of Townsville’s largest construction projects. You’ll gain exposure to major project environments and work alongside experienced delivery teams - all while staying local.

If you enjoy being out on site, building relationships with crews and helping people get the job done safely, this is an opportunity worth a conversation.

You’ll work closely with supervisors, engineers and subcontractors, bringing a practical approach to safety across day-to-day construction activities. We’re looking for someone who can spot a risk, have an honest conversation and help the team find a workable solution.

What you’ll bring

• Experience in a Safety Advisor or similar role within civil construction.
• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or a relevant qualification.
• An understanding of the risks associated with mobile plant, earthworks, excavation and working around services.
• Confidence speaking with everyone from operators and subcontractors through to project management.
• A proactive approach, sound judgement and the ability to follow things through.
• A construction White Card and current driver’s licence.

You don’t need to be the loudest person on site. You do need to be approachable, consistent and comfortable speaking up when something needs attention.
