Job summary

ManpowerGroup partners with an industry-leading Tier 1 construction contractor in Sydney to recruit a Safety Coordinator on a full-time basis.

You will promote safe work practices, support day-to-day site safety requirements, and contribute to major construction projects across Sydney. The role involves travelling between project sites, conducting inductions, risk assessments, SWMS, and helping maintain HSE management systems to lift safety outcomes.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety or related discipline.
• 3–5+ years' experience in a Safety Coordinator/Advisor role on construction sites.
• Current driver's license and willingness to travel between sites.
• Knowledge of WHS legislation and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive health and safety support across Sydney projects.
• Travel between project sites to conduct inspections, audits, and observations.
• Conduct site inductions for employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
• Assist teams with risk assessments, SWMS, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
• Support implementation and improvement of HSE management systems.
• Monitor site safety performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Deliver safety guidance, coaching, and education to project teams.
• Promote a positive safety culture through communication and engagement.
• Assist with injury management and return-to-work processes.
• Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and compliance docs.
• Build strong relationships with site teams, subcontractors and stakeholders.

Safety Coordinator | Sydney | Tier 1 Construction

An industry-leading Tier 1 construction contractor is seeking a motivated and practical Safety Coordinator to join their Sydney team on a full-time permanent basis.

Working closely with project teams, you will play a key role in promoting safe work practices, supporting day-to-day site safety requirements, and contributing to the successful delivery of major construction projects across Sydney.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide proactive health and safety support across multiple construction projects throughout Sydney


• Travel between project sites to conduct inspections, audits and safety observations


• Conduct site inductions for employees, subcontractors and visitors


• Assist project teams with risk assessments, Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), incident investigations and corrective actions


• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems


• Monitor site safety performance and identify opportunities to improve safety outcomes


• Deliver safety guidance, coaching and education to project teams and subcontractors


• Promote a positive and proactive safety culture through effective communication and engagement


• Assist with injury management and return-to-work processes where required


• Maintain accurate safety records, reports and compliance documentation


• Build strong working relationships with site teams, subcontractors and key stakeholders

Requirements

• Relevant qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety or a related discipline


• 3-5+ year's experience in a Safety Coordinator, Safety Advisor or similar construction safety role


• Current driver's licence and willingness to travel between project sites


• Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, standards and industry best practice


• Experience using Microsoft Office and safety management systems


• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills


• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within project teams


• Proactive, professional and team-oriented approach
