Job summary

ManpowerGroup in Sydney is seeking a Safety Coordinator to join a leading Tier 1 construction contractor on a full-time basis. The role focuses on promoting safe work practices, supporting day-to-day site safety, and contributing to major project delivery across Sydney.

The successful candidate will have WHS qualifications and 3-5+ years in a construction safety role, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety or a related discipline
• 3-5+ year's experience in a Safety Coordinator, Safety Advisor or similar construction safety role
• Current driver's licence and willingness to travel between project sites
• Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, standards and industry best practice
• Experience using Microsoft Office and safety management systems
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within project teams
• Proactive, professional and team-oriented approach

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive health and safety support across multiple construction projects throughout Sydney
• Travel between project sites to conduct inspections, audits and safety observations
• Conduct site inductions for employees, subcontractors and visitors
• Assist project teams with risk assessments, Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), incident investigations and corrective actions
• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems
• Monitor site safety performance and identify opportunities to improve safety outcomes
• Deliver safety guidance, coaching and education to project teams and subcontractors
• Promote a positive and proactive safety culture through effective communication and engagement
• Assist with injury management and return-to-work processes where required
• Maintain accurate safety records, reports and compliance documentation
• Build strong working relationships with site teams, subcontractors and key stakeholders
