Westfill Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Safety and Training Coordinator to deliver hands-on training and competency assessments across our underground mining projects on a FIFO roster. You will support site safety systems, inductions, and safety culture while coordinating training records and TNA data.

With 3+ years in underground mining and relevant certifications, you will drive workforce capability and safety performance, reporting to project leadership and maintaining compliance across

Qualifications

• 3+ years' underground mining experience
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122)
• BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety is highly desirable
• Manual HR driver's licence (or higher)
• Hands-on underground mining industry experience
• Experience conducting competency assessments
• Understanding of mining operations, safety legislation and safety management systems
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
• Dangerous Goods security card (essential)
• Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening
• National Police Clearance issued within last 6 months

Responsabilités

• Deliver hands-on training and competency assessments for mining production, processing and site personnel.
• Monitor, maintain and analyse training records and training needs data to identify skill gaps.
• Run training programs safely and in line with site inductions, SWP, JHAs and WPI requirements.
• Coach and evaluate employees, reporting progress to Supervisors and Project Manager.
• Keep training documentation and competency matrices up to date for compliance.
• Coordinate site risk management activities and incident investigations.
• Provide safety advice to workforce and site leadership.

The job

Day To Day, You'll

• Deliver hands‑on training and competency assessments for mining production, processing and site‑based personnel, lifting workforce capability, operational consistency and productivity
• Monitor, maintain and analyse training records and Training Needs Analysis (TNA) data to spot skill gaps and support workforce development
• Run training programs safely and effectively, in line with site inductions, Safe Work Procedures, JHAs and WPI requirements, while reinforcing a strong safety‑first culture
• Coach, mentor and evaluate employees, and report progress, competency outcomes and development opportunities to Supervisors, Foremen and the Project Manager
• Keep training documentation, competency matrices and trainee time allocations accurate, so tracking, reporting and compliance are easy
• Coordinate site risk management activities.
• Conduct and document incident investigations.
• Provide advice to the workforce and site leadership on safety matters.

What you need

The Essentials

• 3+ years' underground mining experience, including operator competencies
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40122)
• BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety is highly desirable
• Manual HR driver's licence (or higher)
• Demonstrated hands‑on underground mining industry experience
• Demonstrated experience conducting competency assessments
• A broad understanding of mining operations, mining methodologies, equipment operation and work health and safety legislation
• A good understanding of Safety Management systems
• Experience in incident investigation.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
• Dangerous Goods security card (essential)
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening
• National Police Clearance issued within the last 6 months
