Job summary

Consultive is seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to support a major data centre project in Melbourne's western suburbs. You will work on-site with the project team and subcontractors to uphold high safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires hands-on safety leadership, strong knowledge of Victorian requirements and the ability to engage multiple trades while driving positive safety outcomes on site.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience as a Safety Advisor within commercial, industrial or major construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of Victorian construction safety requirements.
• Experience working for a head contractor or major subcontractor.
• Confident working in live construction environments with multiple trades.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site inspections and safety walks
• Monitor subcontractor compliance and site safety performance
• Facilitate site inductions and onboarding
• Review SWMS and risk assessments
• Lead toolbox talks and safety briefings
• Investigate incidents, near misses and corrective actions
• Maintain safety documentation and reporting
• Support project audits and client safety requirements
• Manage safety records and compliance systems
• Coach supervisors and subcontractors on safety best practice
• Promote a proactive and positive safety culture
