Job summary

Far West Local Health District is seeking a Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner to deliver advanced palliative nursing in a remote NSW setting. You will conduct comprehensive assessments, interpret diagnostics, and implement treatment plans for patients with life-limiting illness across care settings.

The role requires registration as an Australian RN with NP endorsement and a minimum of 5 years post-registration experience, including 3 years in palliative care.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery board of Australia and endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner (minimum 5 years post-registration experience)
• At least 3 years post-graduate experience in Palliative Care with relevant qualifications
• Advanced clinical leadership, negotiation, liaison, and problem solving in Palliative Care
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment
• Experience in education and training for health professionals
• Must have a current Drivers Licence and willingness to travel within the Far West LHD

Responsibilities

• Provide independent and collaborative expert palliative care nursing
• Perform comprehensive assessments and interpret diagnostics
• Implement treatment modalities including pharmacological and non-pharmacological measures
• Lead and participate in quality improvement and clinical practice changes
• Contribute to continuing professional development and education of staff
