Job summary

Juniper is seeking a qualified Chef to join its roving team across Western Australia’s residential facilities on a full-time basis. The role reports to the Relief Team Coordinator and requires flexibility to move between locations on short notice, including regional sites.

You will provide nutritious meals aligned with cyclic menus, DINE standards and the Food Safety Program, while maintaining HACCP and infection control. Shifts vary weekly.

Qualifications

• Must hold Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
• Experience in commercial cooking and/or aged care catering environments.
• Ability to manage bulk ordering and stock control.
• Understanding of dietary requirements for older people (including IDDSI).
• Ability to manage food budgets and cost controls.
• Strong organisational and time management skills with leadership capability.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals in accordance with cyclic and seasonal menus.
• Ensure adherence to safe food handling, HACCP and infection control standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic kitchen environment.
• Monitor portion control, minimise food wastage and manage stock effectively.
• Order and control stock within food cost guidelines.
• Supervise and direct kitchen staff in line with DINE standards.
• Participate in customer meetings and incorporate feedback into menu planning.
• Ensure compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards and relevant legislation.
