Job summary

Only About Children in Woori Yallock is seeking a confident, caring Room Leader to guide learning, routines and family communication in a busy nursery. You will support educators, oversee safety and daily practice, and help the team deliver high‑quality early childhood experiences.

The role offers a fixed term contract of 12 months, opportunities for leadership growth, and involvement in campus development initiatives within a supportive community.

Qualifications

• Diploma required for the role.
• Experience leading a room or team is essential.
• Strong knowledge of EYLF and NQF and child safety standards.
• First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications preferred.
• Leadership, mentoring and communication are key.
• Ability to manage room priorities, families and quality expectations.
• Working with Children Check and clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Shape the rhythm of the day to keep the room steady.
• Lead learning programs aligned with children's interests.
• Support planning, documentation, reflection and daily practice.
• Oversee supervision, ratios, room routines and safety.
• Build respectful partnerships with families and the day’s events.
• Contribute to QIP, audits, Responsible Person shifts and quality outcomes.

At Woori Yallock, my day feels calm, local and close to nature. I arrive in the Yarra Valley, near Woori Yallock Primary School, parks, buses and parking. The renovated campus feels warm and connected to the natural world around me.

I learn in four indoor spaces and play outside with a sandpit and outdoor dining space. I can visit local parks, walk to school for transitions and join Bush Kinder with a nature and culture focus. As Room Leader, you will guide learning, routines, safety, family communication and educator support so children's days feel calm and connected.

What you'll bring

• A Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or higher.
• Experience leading a room or team.
• Understanding of the EYLF, NQF, child safety and inclusive practice.

• Leadership, mentoring and communication skills.
• Confidence managing room priorities, families and quality expectations.
• A Working with Children Check and relevant clearance.
