This full-time role focuses on mentorship, EYLF-aligned programming, safety and wellbeing, and thorough documentation of children's learning, while fostering strong relationships with families and the community.

Qualifications

• Certificate 3, Diploma or Bachelor in Early Childhood Education.
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Room Leader or in a supervisory role.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
• Excellent communication with children, families and colleagues.
• Knowledge of EYLF and best practices in ECE.
• Team player who can work autonomously when needed.
• current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management certifications.
• NSW Working With Children Check, GECKO and Child Protection training.

Balmain Care For Kids' is seeking an experienced and passionate Room Leader to join our dynamic team in Balmain, NSW. As a full-time Room Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of educators and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and educational programs for children.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strong leadership and mentorship to a team of early childhood educators
• Develop and implement engaging educational programs that align with the Early Years Learning Framework
• Ensure the safety, wellbeing and supervision of all children in your care
• Maintain accurate records, observations and documentation of children's learning and development
• Foster positive relationships with children, families and the broader community
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the centre's policies, procedures and practices
• Comply with all relevant regulations, legislation and industry standards

About you

• Certificate 3, Diploma or Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education - experience and passion is more important to us than qualification
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a Room Leader or in a similar supervisory role in a long daycare setting
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and current best practices in early childhood education
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self‑motivated and able to work autonomously
• Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management certifications
• NSW Working With Children Check
• GECKO Child Safety Training
• Child Protection training
