Job summary

IHG Hotels & Resorts in Melbourne is hiring part-time Room Attendants with a keen eye for detail to ensure guest rooms are clean and inviting. You’ll perform cleaning duties in line with the IHG Way of Clean and assist guests with requests, all while maintaining high standards of presentation.

This physical role requires good fitness, the ability to lift and move items, and the flexibility to work 3–4 days across a 7-day roster, including weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• This is a physically demanding role requiring standing and lifting.
• Attention to cleanliness and presentation is essential.

• Basic literacy and maths skills are required to complete some tasks.
• Understand and follow IHG Way of Clean standards.

Responsibilities

• Clean and present each room to high standards.
• Vacuum, mop, clean bathrooms, change bed linen and dust.
• Assist guests with needs such as towels or chargers.
• Update supervisor on progress and any issues.
• Monitor supplies to minimise waste and cost.
• Assist with regular deep-clean projects.

We take our housekeeping standards seriously. So, we're searching for part time Room Attendants with an exceptional eye for detail and a passion for perfection to make sure every guest enjoys a truly memorable experience.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different, but you'll mostly be:

• Making sure every single room is clean and perfectly presented
• Cleaning duties including vacuuming, mopping, cleaning bathrooms, changing bed linen, dusting and more, all in line with our "IHG Way of Clean" standards
• Helping our guests in any way you can - whether they need more towels or a phone charger
• Keeping your supervisor in the loop by advising them of any progress or problems
• Monitoring and controlling supplies to minimise waste
• Regularly assisting with deep clean projects

What we need from you:

• It's a physical role and you'll be on your feet most of the day, so fitness is important
• The ability to lift heavy items, move mattress bases, push trolleys up to 23 kilograms - we'll train you how to do this safely
• You may need to bend, kneel, reach and stretch to complete some activities
• Literacy skills - basic reading, writing and maths skills
• Flexible availability- available to work 3-4 day shifts, rostered across 7 days and you may be required to work weekends and/or public holidays
