Job summary

Mercure Canberra is seeking casual Room Attendants who take pride in delivering a clean, welcoming space for guests. A keen eye for detail and reliability are valued as part of a supportive team. You will clean guest rooms and bathrooms, replenish supplies, handle laundry, and respond to guest requests with a friendly, timely approach.

We are seeking casual Room Attendants with a keen eye for detail and a passion for ensuring every guest receives a clean and welcoming room for their stay.

What you'll be doing:

• Clean and service guest rooms, bathrooms, corridors, storage areas and assigned spaces to required hotel standards.
• Replenish guest supplies, linen, towels, amenities and in-room materials according to the room type and hotel requirements.
• Carry out regular, deep cleaning tasks as allocated by the supervisor or manager.
• Check room presentation, cleanliness, equipment, fixtures and amenities before completing each room.
• Report maintenance issues, damaged items, safety concerns or unusual activity promptly and accurately.
• Handle guest laundry, lost property and guest belongings carefully and in line with hotel procedures.
• Respond to guest requests in a friendly and timely manner.

What we're looking for:

• Previous housekeeping, cleaning or accommodation experience is desirable but not essential.
• Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the role, including standing, walking, lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling within safe work guidelines.
• Ability to clean rooms efficiently while maintaining quality, safety and attention to detail.
• Respectful and discreet when working in guest rooms and handling guest belongings.
• Reliable, punctual and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
