The Shire of Banana is seeking a capable supervisory candidate to lead road and drainage maintenance teams in the Biloela area. You will drive safe, efficient delivery of the Works Program, mentor staff and ensure compliance with quality, safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities include planning, scheduling, resource allocation, traffic management coordination and daily supervision. This role demands strong leadership and a commitment to public service excellence.

Competenze

• Queensland C class manual driver’s licence is compulsory.
• QLD General Safety Induction – White or Blue Card is compulsory.
• HR class licence, ITMP competency, Traffic Controller competency, and other plant operator tickets are desirable.
• Certificate IV in Civil Construction Supervision is desirable.

Mansioni

• Coordinate and lead road maintenance crews to ensure works completed safely and in accordance with programs and standards.
• Assist with planning, scheduling and monitoring road maintenance activities and resource allocation.
• Undertake and oversee a broad range of road maintenance and construction activities including pavement repairs and drainage.
• Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance and on-the-job training to staff to meet safety and quality standards.
• Supervise work crews in the absence of the Supervisor and undertake delegated supervisory responsibilities.
• Implement approved works schedules and monitor progress, identifying risks and resource needs.
• Monitor compliance with legislation, Council policies, safe work procedures and environmental requirements.
• Implement quality assurance processes to ensure works meet technical specifications and environmental obligations.
• Undertake site inspections to identify hazards and implement risk controls.
• Coordinate and participate in traffic management activities and Traffic Control Plans in accordance with legislation and standards.
• Operate and oversee operation of plant, equipment and vehicles within authorised competencies.
• Ensure routine inspections, servicing and maintenance of plant and tools are carried out.
