Job summary

Ipswich City Council is seeking a Leading Hand to join Roads and Drainage Maintenance, leading on-site crews to deliver essential maintenance across roads, drainage, footpaths, kerb and channel.

You will coordinate resources, monitor progress, foster a safety-first culture, and respond to operational issues to ensure programs and projects are completed on time and to required standards. This permanent role offers stability, a 9-day fortnight, and a supportive team environment.

• Experience directing teams on site.
• Safety-first approach to works and people.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team undertaking maintenance works across roads, drainage, footpaths, kerb and channel.
• Foster a safety culture through pre-starts, toolbox talks, hazard identification and WHS compliance.
• Coordinate daily activities, allocate resources and monitor progress to meet priorities and service standards.
• Respond proactively to operational issues to ensure timely delivery of programs and projects.
