Job summary

Lismore City Council invites applications for a Construction Worker to join our Roads team. You will perform skilled manual tasks such as concreting, pipe laying, and road maintenance, while safely operating small plant and traffic control around worksites.

This role offers a 76-hour fortnight with an RDO, plus opportunities for training and career development. We value teamwork, safety, and a commitment to improving our region's infrastructure and liveability.

Qualifications

• General Construction Induction Card (White Card) required.
• Current Class C Driver’s Licence.
• Traffic Controller Ticket (TCR) and/or Class Light Rigid (LR) Licence.
• Be accepting of new ideas and embrace change.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled manual tasks, including general concreting, pipe laying and general road maintenance tasks.
• Safely operate small plant, rollers, and medium rigid vehicles to support maintenance and construction activities.
• Set up and manage traffic control around worksites to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Follow Work Health and Safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment.
• Use Council systems to manage tasks and updates effectively.
