Job summary

Mount Isa Mines is seeking a motivated and experienced Roads and Waste Grader Operator to join the Isa Surface Fleet Roads & Waste team in Mount Isa, Queensland. Reporting to the Roads & Waste Supervisor, you will be responsible for maintaining critical road infrastructure, landfill operations and waste management services across the Mount Isa Mines leases.

Grader experience is essential, with loader, dozer and landfill compactor experience highly regarded.

• Grader operator experience is essential.
• Loader, dozer and landfill compactor operating experience is highly regarded.
• Strong time management and ability to communicate at all levels.
• Ability to complete a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening.

The Role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Multi Skilled Grader Operator to join the Isa Surface Fleet Roads & Waste team. Reporting to the Roads & Waste Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining critical road infrastructure, landfill operations and waste management services across the Mount Isa Mines and George Fisher Mine leases. Grader experience is essential, while loader, dozer and landfill compactor experience is highly regarded. Training and development will be provided to the successful candidate.

This residential role operates on a 7/7 roster (12-hour day shifts, 42-hour average week).

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Promoting and reinforcing a culture of safety, operational excellence and continuous improvement
• Operating a variety of Heavy Earth Moving equipment
• Working with other departments, contractors and teams to support production targets are safely met
• Maintaining a high level of safety in the way we work
• Monitoring, reporting and conducting thorough equipment prestart inspectionSafe operation of machinery across site and positive communication

You will have the following skillset and attributes:

• Grader operator experience is essential
• Loader, dozer and landfill compactor operating experience is highly regarded
• Proven experience in heavy machinery operations would be advantageous
• Strong time management skills
• Ability to communicate at all levels
• Flexible attitude and sound work ethic
• Ability to achieve results within the specified time frames
• Strong customer focus is required as well as a high level of attention to detail
• Ability to work well within a team environment or with minimal supervision
• The ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening
