Job summary

Mount Isa Mines is seeking an Officer - IS&T Field Support to provide hands-on IT support across site operations, covering desktop, infrastructure, networking and OT while troubleshooting and resolving issues. You will build relationships with stakeholders and contribute to reliable technology performance.

This role offers a residential 9-day fortnight roster with every second Friday off, enabling work-life balance and opportunities to lead technology improvement initiatives across critical site

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite and remote IT support for hardware, software and printers.
• Troubleshoot desktop, network and infrastructure incidents.
• Manage support tickets to meet SLAs.
• Support meeting room tech, AV, telephony and radio systems.
• Coordinate with vendors and specialist teams to resolve issues.
• Assist with infrastructure maintenance and upgrades.
• Maintain IT asset lifecycle activities.
• Contribute to business continuity and major incident response.
• Identify opportunities to improve customer service and technology performance.

Reporting to the Supervisor - Field Delivery, the Officer - IS&T Field Support provides hands-on technical support across the business, delivering exceptional customer service while troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, network and communication issues. You'll work closely with stakeholders at all levels, support technology improvement initiatives and contribute to the ongoing reliability and performance of critical site systems.

About the role

Reporting to the Supervisor – Operational Support, the Officer - IS&T Field Support is responsible for delivering high-quality IT support services across site operations. You will provide hands-on technical support, troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, networking and communication issues, while building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment where they can make a direct impact on operational performance through reliable technology support and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide onsite and remote support for computer hardware, software, mobile devices and printers
• Troubleshoot and resolve desktop, network and infrastructure related incidents
• Monitor and manage support tickets, ensuring service level agreements are achieved
• Act as the primary IS&T point of contact for operational and business stakeholders
• Support meeting room technology, audiovisual equipment, telephony and radio systems
• Coordinate with vendors and specialist teams to resolve technical issues
• Assist with infrastructure maintenance, system upgrades and technology projects
• Maintain IT asset lifecycle activities including deployment, relocation and disposal
• Contribute to business continuity, disaster recovery and major incident response
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve customer service and technology performance

About Your Experience

You are a customer-focused IT professional who enjoys getting hands-on with technology and takes pride in solving problems others cannot. Whether it's diagnosing hardware faults, troubleshooting network issues or supporting end users, you're someone who enjoys variety and is motivated by finding practical solutions in a fast-paced operational environment.

You'll bring experience supporting desktop and infrastructure environments, along with strong communication skills and a genuine desire to help people. You are comfortable managing competing priorities, building relationships with stakeholders and taking ownership of issues through to resolution. Most importantly, you'll have a proactive mindset, a strong commitment to customer service and a passion for technology.

Qualifications required:

• Current Manual C Class Driver's Licence
• Certificate IV or tertiary qualification in Information Technology (highly regarded)
• Relevant Microsoft, Networking or IT industry certifications (desirable)
