Job summary

Mount Isa Mines is seeking a Senior Superintendent - Fixed Plant Maintenance and Operations for George Fisher Mine in Mount Isa, Queensland. This residential role leads a multidisciplinary maintenance team and drives safe, reliable fixed plant performance, reporting to the Manager - Maintenance.

You will oversee Supervisors, manage budgets and maintenance priorities, and partner with internal and external stakeholders to deliver continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Five to seven years experience in a comparable maintenance leadership role.
• Qualifications in engineering, maintenance management or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in underground mining including crushing and hoisting systems.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of fixed plant maintenance, reliability and asset management.
• Knowledge of risk management in a maintenance environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven leadership, influencing and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to manage priorities and work across teams.
• Commitment to safety, continuous improvement and operational excellence.

The role

Are you an experienced maintenance leader looking to advance your career in the mining industry?

Mount Isa Mines is seeking a skilled and motivated Superintendent - Fixed Plant Maintenance and Operations to join the Fixed Plant Maintenance team at George Fisher Mine. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional looking to broaden their technical knowledge and further develop their leadership capability. Reporting to the Manager - Maintenance, you will lead a multidisciplinary team, oversee Supervisors and mechanical projects, and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will model our agreed behaviours, promote a strong safety culture and support the delivery of safe, reliable and efficient fixed plant maintenance outcomes. This is a residential position based in Mount Isa, working a lifestyle 5/2, 4/3 roster- a nine-day fortnight.

Key Responsibilities

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Five to seven years' experience in a comparable maintenance leadership role.
• Relevant qualifications in engineering, maintenance management or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in underground mining inclusive of crushing and hoisting systems.
• Experience leading and engaging multidisciplinary teams.
• A strong understanding of fixed plant maintenance, reliability and asset management principles.
• A thorough understanding of risk management in a maintenance environment.
