Job summary

Balonne Shire Council is seeking a capable Construction Supervisor to lead the delivery of road construction and maintenance works across the region. This hands-on leadership role requires coordinating day labour workforce and subcontractors to ensure safe, reliable transport infrastructure for local communities.

You will manage daily delivery, inspections, and quality requirements while supporting planning, budgeting, and effective stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• Experience in road construction and maintenance.
• Experience managing employees, plant and equipment, and contractors.
• Able to work unsupervised and meet demanding deadlines.
• Experience interpreting policies and procedures.
• Certificate IV in Civil Construction is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day supervision of road and street works, including drainage, delivered by in-house teams and subcontractors.
• Coordinate crews, plant and contractors to achieve quality outcomes.
• Plan and schedule inspections, monitor workflow and maintain safety standards.
• Monitor progress, report to the Manager Road Construction and Maintenance, and manage budgets and resources.
• Assist with planning for annual works and respond to operational issues as they arise.
• Support disaster and emergency management responses when required.
