Job description

This is a 6-month Remuneration & Benefits contract based in Western Sydney. It suits a senior reward specialist who likes building things properly rather than maintaining someone else's system.

The business has grown quickly over the last two years and the reward side hasn't kept pace. Some foundations are in place, but they were built for a much smaller company. Your job is to design, get sign-off on and launch three things:

A long-term incentive (LTI) plan

A modern employee benefits program

At the end of the contract you'll hand it over to someone who runs it day to day.

The role is offered as a fixed-term contract for 6 months with potential to extend.

About the company

Our client is a high growth brand in two critical sectors here in Australia. It's fast-paced, plans can change quickly, and the leadership team is ready to act on good advice. Keeping their key people and giving them a real share in what they're building is a big priority.

What you'll be doing

STI plan

Reviewing the current pay structures and reward practices

Working with the leadership team to understand the business, financial and operational goals

Designing company, team and individual performance measures, plus scorecards and weightings

Setting eligibility, target and maximum bonus by role level

Writing plan rules, participant guides and approval and payment processes

Running workshops, getting executive sign-off and launching the plan

LTI plan

Working out what the business needs for long-term retention and executive reward

Recommending the right LTI vehicles, such as performance rights, share rights, phantom equity, cash-based plans or retention incentives

Setting vesting schedules, performance hurdles and eligibility

Working with legal and finance on plan structure and compliance

Communicating the approved plan to participants

Benefits program

Running a market review of what comparable businesses offer

Recommending a practical package that could include salary packaging, novated leasing, motor vehicle allowances, wellbeing, extra leave, flexible working, EAP, recognition and professional development

Setting eligibility and admin guidelines, plus a roadmap for future improvements

Advice to leadership

Benchmarking and market analysis

Recommending simple, practical reward governance

Flagging pay risks and how to manage them

Presenting findings to senior leaders and the Board where needed

About you

Hands-on experience designing and implementing remuneration and reward frameworks

Proven experience building STI plans and LTI programs

Strong understanding of executive and senior leader pay

Benchmarking and market analysis experience

Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills. You'll need to explain pay clearly and bring leaders with you

Excellent analytical, commercial and project management skills

Strong report writing and presentation skills

Comfortable working autonomously in a lean, fast-moving business

A degree in HR, Commerce, Business, Finance, Accounting or a related field

Nice to have

Experience in energy, infrastructure, engineering, services or ASX-listed businesses

Experience presenting to Boards and Remuneration Committees

Knowledge of the tax, employment and governance side of incentive plans

Experience in a founder-led or high-growth business

Remuneration or reward qualifications, or membership of a professional body

What's on offer

Real ownership: your work will shape how the business rewards and keeps its people for years

Direct access to the leadership team in a business that moves quickly on good ideas
