Take ownership of accounts receivable in a busy automotive business

Our client is a well‑established automotive business in Sydney's north‑west, with a fast‑moving operation spanning sales, service and parts. Money comes in from a lot of directions: finance companies, manufacturers, fleet and trade accounts, and retail customers. They need an experienced Accounts Receivable Officer who can keep all of it moving, keep the ledger clean, and make sure nothing sits unpaid longer than it should.

This isn't an entry‑level role. You'll be trusted to own the function, work closely with management, and bring the kind of judgement that only comes from having done this before.

What you'll be doing

  • Managing the full accounts receivable ledger across multiple departments
  • Following up finance company settlements and vehicle payouts to make sure funds land on time
  • Lodging, tracking and reconciling manufacturer claims, including warranty, incentives and bonuses
  • Managing trade, fleet and account customers, from invoicing through to collection
  • Reconciling receipts, bank transactions and debtor accounts, and resolving discrepancies quickly
  • Preparing aged debtor reports and flagging risk before it becomes a problem
  • Supporting month‑end close and working with the wider accounts team and management

What you'll bring

  • Solid experience in accounts receivable or credit control at a mid to senior level
  • A genuine team player who's happy to pitch in and support the wider accounts team
  • A can‑do attitude: you see a problem, you own it, and you get it sorted
  • Confidence chasing overdue accounts firmly but professionally
  • Strong reconciliation skills and genuine attention to detail
  • Comfort working across systems and learning new ones quickly
  • Automotive or dealership experience would be great, but it's not necessary. Strong AR skills and the right attitude matter more.

Why this role

  • $65,000-$75,000 + super, depending on experience
  • Full‑time, Monday to Friday
  • A stable, established business where your work is visible and valued
  • Ownership of a function, not just a task list
  • A varied, fast‑paced environment where no two days are the same
  • Castle Hill location

This role is only open to Australian citizens or permanent residents

The purpose of this role is to manage the collection/credit escalation process including liaising with internal/external customers as the key point of contact to resolve disputes whilst maintaining a high level of customer centric
