Harris Farm Markets in Sydney is seeking a Head of Centralised Retail Operations to architect the operating standards that will underpin our growth from 35 stores to 50 by FY30.

You’ll own the Retail Playbook, the Store Manager development pipeline and the store communications architecture, ensuring every outlet achieves the same high standard, regardless of region or tenure. This is not advisory—you are the architect shaping real, day-to-day practice.

Qualifications

• Senior-level retail operations experience in fresh food, grocery or multi-site settings preferred.
• Ability to build and scale operational systems and playbooks.
• Systems thinking and a bias for standardisation across stores.

Responsibilities

• Own the Retail Playbook as the group operating standard and ensure access across every store.
• Translate playbook disciplines into practical tools and checklists for store leaders.
• Own the Area Manager inspection system as the primary quality tool for the group.
• Develop and manage the Store Manager and Trainee pipeline including curriculum and assessments.
• Oversee daily Store Bulletin and coordinate inputs from Buying, Loss Prevention, Safety and HR.
• Collaborate with leadership to shape retail strategy and ensure consistent rollout.
• Drive Availability and Total Loss metrics through the network.
• Lead and grow the CoE team: Ops Coordinators, Store Communications Coordinator, and Reporting Analyst.
