Job summary

Harris Farm Markets is seeking a Regional Manager to lead our NSW/Sydney region across 17–18 stores, accountable for sales, margin, wage discipline, and people capability. You will drive the region from the stores, not a desk, and report to the EGM Retail Operations & Property.

You will demonstrate senior leadership, read stores quickly, and own the P&L with a focus on delivering sustainable growth, customer service excellence, and strong team development.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in multi-site operations, preferably fresh food or grocery retail.
• Proven ability to own P&L and drive regional performance.

Responsibilities

• Own the region's sales growth across 17–18 stores, tracking weekly performance.
• Manage gross profit through product mix, waste control and markdown discipline.
• Design rosters and labour deployment to meet wage budgets without compromising service.
• Maintain store availability and address stockouts daily.
• Uphold regional standards based on Harris Farm Playbook disciplines.
• Develop Store Manager and Area Manager successors and bench strength.
• Lead new store readiness and regional commercial ramp.
• Ensure WHS accountability and food safety compliance.

Job description

There are only two of these roles in the entire business and one of them could be yours.

The Regional Manager owns a region as a genuine commercial business in its own right, accountable for sales, margin, wage discipline, people capability and operating standards across 17–18 stores and 1,200–1,500 people. Reporting to the EGM Retail Operations & Property and leading a team of 3–4 Area Managers, you'll run the region from the stores, not from behind a desk.

What You'll Do

• Own the region's sales growth, reading LFL growth, basket size, transaction count and category performance week by week
• Own Post Wages Gross Profit through product mix, waste management and markdown discipline
• Own wage cost through roster design and labour deployment, running to budget without sacrificing service or standards
• Hold Availability as a non-negotiable, gap-fill, ordering discipline and same-day OOS resolution are daily expectations
• Own the standard of every store in the region, embedding the five Playbook disciplines as the weekly operating expectation
• Hold formal accountability for the Store Manager bench and Area Manager development, performance and succession readiness
• Own new store readiness and activation within the region, partnering with the EGM on commercial ramp
• Hold full WHS accountability for the region, TRIFR down year-on-year, zero critical food safety non-conformances
