Job summary

Poolwerx Shailer Park is seeking an experienced Retail Manager to lead a high-performing team and optimise the customer experience across the Poolwerx Shailer Park retail network. You will implement company policies on operations, customer service, cash handling, marketing, purchasing, HR, health & safety, and admin while driving profitability.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and safe retail environment in line with WHS policies.
• Lead and manage the retail team, including recruitment and onboarding.
• Oversee local area marketing, promotions, and ensure marketing activities are completed by the team.
• Monitor sales and profit indicators and review financial performance (P&L, variances).
• Prepare rosters at least 7 days in advance and ensure labour compliance and payroll reporting.
• Oversee stock planning, inventory control, and weekly stock orders.

Job description

Responsible for creating a competitive and profitable work environment which is focused on optimising the customer experience. The Retail Manager is accountable for successfully implementing and maintaining all Company policies and procedures in relation to operations, customer service, cash handling, marketing, purchasing, human resources, health & safety, administration, training and development across the Poolwerx Shailer Park retail network.

Key responsibilities

Maintain a clean and safe working environment adhering to WH&S policies & procedures

Manage the quarterly retail safety hub audit

Implement the local area marketing, sales and promotional programs and ensure team are completing marketing activities

Monitor the key indicators in the Business Plan, in particular the sales and profit indicators

Review P & L's, investigate any variances, develop and implement appropriate improvement strategies

Conduct the recruitment and selection of all retail team members, ensuring that recruitment processes always follows a formal, logical and professional manner in accordance with Company practices

Arrange the onboarding of all team members, ensuring that all induction and training activities are complete

Hold monthly toolbox talks with team - review, preview and education

Manage inventory for retail business including reviewing and placing stock orders on a weekly basis ensuring that efficient stock levels are maintained for trade

Complete and post rosters in a conspicuous place at least 7 days in advance and ensure roster and labour compliance and accurate payroll reporting

About you

Highly experienced Customer Service and sales background

Experience managing retail sales targets and team members

Industry specific WHS knowledge and understanding

High level of industry specific technical knowledge (products & equipment)

Experience managing financials (profit, loss and inventory)

Ability to independently solve problems

Confident managing sales, profit margins and cost reduction

Positive attitude and adaptability with technology
