Job Description
SPAR Express Woodgate is a locally operated convenience retail store catering to the everyday shopping needs of residents in Woodgate and the surrounding area. The store offers a range of grocery items, snacks, beverages, packaged food and other household essentials, providing customers with a convenient place to shop for their daily needs. Operating under the SPAR retail network, the business benefits from established product supply arrangements, distribution facilities, marketing resources and retail support.

This allows the store to maintain a varied product range while responding to the needs and preferences of its local customers. Located at 14 Frizzells Road, Woodgate 4660 QLD, the business is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Retail Manager to oversee its store operations, manage staff and stock, and contribute to the continued growth and efficient running of the business. • Manage the store's product range, including grocery, fresh, chilled and everyday convenience items, and ensure stock levels are maintained according to customer demand and business requirements.
• Coordinate purchasing and merchandising activities, liaise with suppliers, negotiate supply arrangements where required and review product prices to maintain competitive pricing and suitable profit margins.
• Prepare and manage the store's operating budget, set sales and expense targets, and monitor wages, stock purchases and other operating costs against business objectives.
• Plan and organise local promotional activities, special offers, product displays and advertising initiatives to attract customers and improve store sales.
• Maintain good customer service standards by assisting customers with enquiries, resolving complaints and providing information about available products.
• Recruit, prepare work rosters, train and supervise store employees, allocate duties and provide guidance to ensure the team works effectively.
• Maintain accurate records of stock levels, deliveries, wastage, purchases and daily sales, and oversee the reconciliation of cash takings and banking.
• Oversee stock ordering, receiving and rotation, ensuring products are properly stored and displayed while minimising stock shortages, wastage and product spoilage.
• Monitor daily and weekly sales results, review store performance and identify areas where improvements can be made to increase sales and improve operational efficiency.
• Ensure the store remains clean, safe and well maintained, and that staff follow workplace health and safety, food safety, hygiene requirements and established store procedures.
• Liaise with suppliers and relevant retail support representatives to implement store standards, operational systems and promotional activities.

Qualification & Experience

• Minimum one year of relevant experience in retail management, store supervision or a similar retail role.
• Applicants must hold a recognised Diploma qualification or a higher-level qualification to be considered for the position.
• Demonstrated knowledge of stock management, purchasing, supplier coordination and inventory control.
• Ability to supervise staff, manage work schedules and coordinate daily store operations.
• Strong customer service skills, with the ability to handle customer enquiries and resolve complaints professionally.
• Good understanding of retail sales, product pricing, merchandising and promotional activities, along with sound organisational and problem-solving skills.

Salary: $80,000- $85,000 Plus Superannuation per annum Hours: Full-Time, 38 Hours Week
