Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and manage the daily operations of the grocery store.

• Liaise with suppliers and wholesalers regarding pricing, product availability, orders, and delivery schedules.
• Monitor inventory levels and implement effective stock-control and stock-rotation procedures.
• Ensure that perishable and packaged products are stored appropriately and monitored for quality and expiry dates.
• Set and review product pricing in accordance with business objectives and market conditions.
• Coordinate merchandising, product displays, promotional activities, and in-store presentation.
• Monitor customer demand and identify opportunities to introduce new or additional product lines.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, stock levels, sales and financial transactions.
• Monitor store budgets, operational costs and profitability.
• Recruit, train, supervise and coordinate retail staff.
• Prepare staff rosters, allocate duties and monitor employee performance.
• Establish and maintain high standards of customer service.
• Respond to customer enquiries, complaints and feedback in a professional manner.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, workplace health and safety and relevant retail requirements.
• Oversee cash handling, point-of-sale operations, and daily financial reconciliation.

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate should have:
