Job summary

Mobile Doc is seeking an experienced Retail Manager to lead our mobile phone and telecommunications retail store in the Newcastle area. You will oversee daily operations, staff, inventory, purchasing, and customer service to meet sales and operating targets.

The role requires a relevant business or retail management qualification and at least 3 years of experience. You will implement sales strategies, monitor performance and maintain brand standards to maximise profitability.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Retail Manager to lead and manage the day-to-day operations of our mobile phone and telecommunications retail store. The successful candidate will be responsible for store performance, staff management, inventory, purchasing, customer service and the implementation of sales and operational strategies.

Key responsibilities

Plan, organise and oversee the day-to-day operations of the retail store to ensure efficient and profitable business performance

Determine appropriate product ranges and stock levels for mobile phones, accessories, telecommunications products and related services based on sales trends and customer demand

Develop and implement purchasing, sales, pricing, marketing and promotional strategies to achieve store revenue and profitability objectives

Monitor sales results, operating costs and financial performance against established budgets and business targets, and implement appropriate corrective strategies

Manage inventory and procurement activities, including stock control, replenishment, supplier coordination and purchasing requirements

Recruit, train, roster, supervise and evaluate retail staff, allocate responsibilities and establish performance and customer service standards

Manage product merchandising, store presentation, pricing and promotional displays to maximise sales opportunities and maintain appropriate brand standards

Establish and monitor customer service standards and manage escalated customer enquiries, complaints and after-sales matters

Analyse sales trends, customer demand and competitor activities and provide recommendations to improve store performance, product offerings and promotional activities

Maintain appropriate operational, sales, stock and financial records and prepare store performance reports for management

About you

A relevant qualification in Business, Management, Retail Management or a closely related field

At least 3 years of relevant experience in retail management or a closely related managerial role

Demonstrated experience supervising and managing retail employees

Experience in inventory management, purchasing, sales performance and store operations

Strong leadership, organisational, communication and problem-solving skills

Sound commercial understanding of sales targets, budgets, costs and store profitability

Experience in mobile phones, telecommunications, consumer electronics or a similar retail environment will be highly regarded
