Job summary

Vitalia's Italian Restaurant in Cairns is seeking an experienced Restaurant Supervisor to lead front-of-house operations across busy service periods. The role covers supervising staff, coordinating duties, and ensuring smooth seating and service flow.

The successful candidate will liaise with kitchen staff, train team members, and uphold food safety and RSA standards. The position is permanent full‑time with salary $68,000–$75,000.

Job Description

Vitalia's Italian Restaurant in Cairns offers authentic Italian cuisine including pizza, focaccia, panini, and a range of traditional lunch and dinner dishes. Vitalia's Italian Restaurant is now looking for an experienced Restaurant Supervisor to join their team. The right candidate will be responsible for:

Supervise daily front-of-house operations to ensure efficient, professional and high-quality service throughout each shift; Coordinate and allocate duties to waitstaff, runners and other front-of-house team members according to service requirements; Monitor customer service standards and assist staff in resolving guest requests, complaints and service issues promptly;

Welcome guests, manage table allocations and support smooth seating and service flow during busy periods; Liaise with kitchen staff regarding orders, dietary requirements, special requests and service timing; Train and support new and existing staff in service procedures, menu knowledge, customer service standards and workplace policies;

Monitor staff presentation, attendance and performance, providing guidance and feedback where required; Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash handling, till reconciliation and preparation of the dining area; Monitor stock levels of beverages, service supplies and other front-of-house items and advise management when replenishment is required;

Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, responsible service of alcohol and workplace health and safety requirements. About you: At least 1 year of experience as a Restaurant Supervisor;
