Job summary

The Odyssey Greek Eats in Wollongbar is seeking an **Venue Manager** to lead both the front of house and kitchen teams. You’ll drive service standards, manage budgets, and own day-to-day performance of the venue.

You should bring hands-on leadership, strong communication, and a passion for hospitality, with experience in casual dining or high-volume settings. Greek/Mediterranean cuisine experience is a plus.

As Venue Manager, you'll be responsible for the overall performance of the venue, leading both front of house and kitchen teams to deliver a consistently high standard of food, service and hospitality. This is a hands on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys being on the floor, developing people and taking ownership of their venue.

Key responsibilities

• Leading, motivating and developing a high performing team
• Overseeing daily operations across front of house and kitchen
• Delivering exceptional customer service and creating a dining experience
• Managing staff rostering, labour costs and operational budgets
• Monitoring food costs, stock control, ordering and wastage
• Recruiting, onboarding and training new team members
• Maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, cleanliness and food safety
• Driving sales, operational efficiency and overall venue profitability
• Building a positive workplace culture based on accountability, teamwork and respect
• Ensuring the venue consistently meets brand standards and operational expectations

About you

• Previous experience as a Venue Manager, Restaurant Manager or in a similar hospitality leadership role
• Strong operational knowledge of casual dining or high volume hospitality environments
• Proven ability to lead, train and develop teams
• An understanding of labour management, food costs and financial performance
• Excellent communication, organisation and problem solving skills
• A hands on approach and willingness to lead by example
• High standards when it comes to food quality, presentation and customer service
• The ability to remain calm, organised and decisive during busy service periods
• A genuine passion for hospitality and creating great customer experiences
• Experience in Greek or Mediterranean cuisine is an advantage, but not essential
