Job summary

Waverley Council is seeking fit, reliable waste collection team members to provide services to residents and businesses. You will join the Resource Recovery team, perform outdoor collections and ensure safe, efficient operations.

Applicants should hold NSW School Certificate or equivalent and a Class C licence, with strong communication, reliability and flexibility to work early hours and on public holidays. Inclusive culture and ongoing development are offered.

Qualifications

• NSW School Certificate or equivalent.
• A current Class C driver’s licence, which you must maintain.
• Good communication, teamwork and customer service skills.
• Reliability, punctuality and flexibility to work outside normal hours, on public holidays and rostered overtime.
• The physical fitness required for waste collection and safe manual handling.
• A commitment to continuous improvement, work health and safety, equal opportunity, risk management and environmental protection.

Responsibilities

• Empty mobile garbage bins and collect green and hard waste.
• Report damaged or contaminated bins.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Maintain safe, clean work areas and follow Council procedures.
• Work as part of a team to deliver quality services.
