Wodonga Council is seeking a Resource Recovery Officer to join the Resource Recovery Centre in a full‑time, 12‑month fixed‑term role. The position offers a wage of $37.86 per hour plus superannuation and entitlements, with an 8 days on, 6 days off pattern.

The role combines site operations, customer service, material recovery and safe equipment use in an outdoor, hands‑on environment. You will contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable community while working with a dedicated team.

Qualificações

• Strong frontline customer service and clear communication skills.
• Practical, team‑oriented approach and willingness to undertake varied duties.
• Confidence using computers and digital systems for transactions, data entry and record keeping.
• Understanding of safe work practices and personal responsibility for workplace safety.
• Experience in waste management, resource recovery or a similar operational environment.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and undertake the physical requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Recover and separate recyclable and reusable materials, maintain site standards and support the safe day‑to‑day operation of the Resource Recovery Centre.
• Assist customers to navigate the facility, understand disposal requirements and make the right decisions about recycling and waste separation.
• Operate authorised plant, equipment and tools in line with procedures and licence requirements, monitor equipment condition and report defects or maintenance needs.
• Contribute across a broad range of operational activities, including transactions, data entry, record keeping, litter collection, street sweeping and relief duties when required.
