Job summary

Caloundra House on the Sunshine Coast is seeking a casual resident support worker to help maintain a safe, supportive living environment for residents with varying needs. You will work predominantly sleepover shifts and support daily living activities with dignity and compassion.

Based at Caloundra House, duties include welfare checks, meals, medication administration, accurate notes, and maintaining cleanliness and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced environment such as hospitality, retail, customer service or community services.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, respectful and non-judgemental approach to people from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to stay calm, follow procedures and respond when situations change.
• Willingness to learn about mental health, resident wellbeing and supported accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct resident welfare checks and respond to support needs.
• Prepare and organise meals for residents.
• Administer medication in accordance with training and procedures.
• Record progress notes and handover information.
• Respond to emergencies following established procedures.
• Assist residents with daily needs while promoting independence and wellbeing.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene and safety throughout the facility.
