Job summary

BlueCare is seeking a Residential Service Manager for Star of the Sea Elders Village on Thursday Island. You’ll lead nurses, carers and support staff, ensuring compassionate, person-centred care while meeting regulatory standards and sustaining occupancy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification in health leadership.
  • Experience managing a residential aged care or healthcare service.
  • Experience with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and communities.
  • Proven mentoring and coaching of frontline leaders.
  • Ability to meet probity checks and ACQSC/NDIS requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of nurses, carers and support staff to deliver person-centred care.
  • Ensure high quality governance, audits and regulatory compliance.
  • Drive occupancy, financial sustainability and property maintenance.
  • Partner with senior clinicians to coach and develop front-line leaders.

You’ll work with your front-line team to provide outstanding care to residents, promoting a culture of values-based, person-centred care.Through your knowledge, you’ll promote a high standard of quality and compliance, ensuring your facility meets all regulatory requirements through best practice clinical care and audit activities. You’ll ensure strong financial sustainability by driving community engagement to support occupancy whilst overseeing property maintenance, hospitality and lifestyle programs.Working closely with your senior clinicians, you’ll lead a team of nurses, personal carers and support staff, ensuring their ongoing performance by providing coaching and direction to enable their success.We encourage our team to be creative and enjoy themselves while contributing to our success. Your mentorship and coaching of frontline leaders have resulted in strong service performance, with sound quality outcomes and care governance. You’re confident tackling complex and conflicting priorities throughout your day, pooling your resources to meet deadlines.Bachelor of Nursing, or equivalent qualification OR solid experience in the management of a residential aged care or healthcare serviceExperience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and communitiesExperience coordinating care provision within a large teamConfidence to manage staff, conflict, pressures and competing prioritiesAbility to provide leadership, support and mentorship to other team membersSatisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or organisational policyIn accordance with requirements outlined by the ACQSC and / or the NDIS this role is considered as Key Personnel.
