BlueCare is seeking a casual Site Support Worker to join the Pinangba team at Cooktown's Cape York Family Centre. The role focuses on safety, lone-working checks, and supporting residents in residential AOD rehabilitation settings.

You will perform perimeter security, lockdown checks, assist with daily tasks, respond to emergencies, and document observations. The position requires First Aid/CPR, weekend availability, and sensitivity to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Qualifications

  • Current First Aid and CPR qualifications or ability to acquire.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, families and communities.
  • Sound computer skills and ability to read/send emails and online training modules.
  • Clear written observation notes and incident reporting.
  • Ability to work shift work, including after-hours and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain site safety and security with perimeter checks hourly or as directed.
  • Perform afternoon lockdown checks of buildings and vehicles.
  • Monitor on-site conduct to prevent contraband and substance use.
  • De-escalate conflicts and respond to emergencies with on-call support.
  • Document observations in the Site Support Worker book and via email.
  • Provide practical support (transport, Centrelink and banking) as directed.
  • Assist clients with medication procedures and support daily tasks.
  • Undertake regular cleaning tasks and report maintenance issues.

Site Support Worker | Pinangba | CooktownEmployment Term: CasualLocation: Cooktown - Cape York Family CentreRemuneration: $36.31 (Plus Casual loading) + 12% Super + Penalties & AllowancesShifts: Vary between 1 - 5 days per week including nights and weekendsCasual opportunity available for energetic, passionate and highly capable Site Support Officer to join the team at our Cape York Family Centre Rehabilitation Centre.Pinangba is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander group of services, where family and belonging is at the heart of everything we do, building a stronger future together. The Pinangba service of Cape York Family Centre based in Cooktown . It is a place where we work together as a big family to provide care and residential alcohol and other drug rehabilitation services to our mob.The core function of the Site Support Worker position is to ensure the safety of individuals and families who are receiving residential AOD rehabilitation treatment via shift work (after hours and weekends).
