Job summary

Troocoo Pty is seeking an experienced Home Assessor to join our growing team in the insurance and claims industry. The role involves attending residential properties to assess building damage, preparing accurate damage reports and Scopes of Work, and managing claims end-to-end with a focus on quality customer service.

A background in building, construction or property repairs is preferred, with strong communication, negotiation and problem‑solving skills, plus comfort with technology and virtual

Qualifications

• Experience in building, construction, property repairs or insurance assessing.
• Understanding of building damage, repair methods and construction processes.
• Experience preparing or reviewing Scopes of Work and validating costs.
• Familiarity with building materials, labour rates and construction costs.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
• Customer-focused with problem-solving and conflict resolution.
• Comfort with technology and virtual assessment tools.
• Trade experience is highly regarded; insurance experience is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Attend residential properties to assess building damage from insured events.
• Prepare accurate damage reports and detailed Scopes of Work.
• Review builders’ scopes, validate repair costs and negotiate with repairers.
• Determine appropriate repair methods balancing quality, cost and customer expectations.
• Manage claims end-to-end, coordinating assessments, repairs and finalisation.
• Maintain regular communication with customers, builders, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor repair progress to meet timeframes and quality standards.
• Conduct customer satisfaction and quality assurance checks.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, policies and procedures.
• Travel to customer sites as required, with potential interstate travel during major weather events.
