Job summary

Murphy Group locates on the Mooloolaba foreshore and seeks an experienced Residential Construction Estimator to join our team, reporting to the Residential Operations Manager. You will manage cost estimation across investment and custom build projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years estimating in residential construction (custom, investment, single/multi-res).
• Qualifications in Estimating or Building & Construction (Degree/Diploma/Cert IV preferred).
• Software experience: Onsite Companion, Databuild, or Cubit.
• Strong plan reading, numeracy, WHS, and legislative compliance knowledge.
• Problem-solver, autonomous, and a strong collaborator/negotiator.

Responsibilities

• Plan & Document Interpretation: Interpret plans, specs, and documents to deliver accurate project cost estimates.
• Procurement & Negotiation: Build strong trade/supplier relationships to secure competitive pricing.
• Order Management: Issue and review purchase orders, variations, and trade correspondence.
• Scheduling: Coordinate specialist trades and materials to maintain project timelines.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, results-driven Residential Construction Estimator to join our team, reporting to the Residential Operations Manager. You will manage cost estimation across both investment and custom build projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan & Document Interpretation: Interpret plans, specs, and documents to deliver accurate project cost estimates.
• Procurement & Negotiation: Build strong trade/supplier relationships to secure competitive pricing.
• Order Management: Issue and review purchase orders, variations, and trade correspondence.
• Scheduling: Coordinate specialist trades and materials to maintain project timelines.

Key Attributes & Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years estimating in residential construction (custom, investment, single/multi-res).
• Education: Qualifications in Estimating or Building & Construction (Degree/Diploma/Cert IV preferred).
• Software: Intermediate MS Office; experience with Onsite Companion, Databuild, or Cubit is a plus.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong plan reading, numeracy, WHS, and legislative compliance knowledge.
• Soft Skills: Problem-solver, autonomous, and a strong collaborator/negotiator.
