Job summary

Lifesupport Healthcare Pty Ltd in Melbourne, Australia, is seeking an experienced Residential Care Officer to join our team. You will provide direct care, support residents with daily living activities, and help implement and review individual care plans.

Qualifications

• AQF Level Diploma or higher qualification in a relevant field.
• At least one year of full time, relevant work experience within the last five years.
• Experience implementing care plans and behaviour support plans in residential settings.
• Ability to work independently during shifts, manage resident supervision, respond to incidents.
• Strong communication and record keeping skills including progress notes and incident reporting.

Responsibilities

Our client, Lifesupport Healthcare Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and motivated Residential Care Officer to join their team.

Tasks include:

• Provide direct care and support to residents/participants according to their individual care and support plans.
• Assess residents' care needs and assist in developing, implementing and reviewing individualised care plans.
• Support residents with daily living activities, personal care, mobility and maintaining independence.
• Monitor residents' wellbeing, behaviour and changing support needs and report concerns to relevant management or healthcare professionals.
• Coordinate and supervise Personal Care Workers and support staff involved in delivering day-to-day care.
• Provide guidance to care staff regarding individual support requirements, routines and appropriate care practices.
• Maintain accurate records of care provided, incidents, progress, observations and changes in residents' circumstances.
• Liaise with residents, families, healthcare professionals and other service providers regarding ongoing care and support requirements.
• Assist residents to participate in community, social and recreational activities according to their individual goals.
• Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies and changes in residents physical or emotional wellbeing.
• Ensure care is delivered in accordance with organisational policies, NDIS requirements, workplace health and safety procedures and relevant care standards.
• Promote residents' dignity, privacy, choice, independence and overall quality of life.

Qualifications and skills:
