Job summary

Spinifex State College in Mount Isa is seeking a dedicated Student Support Worker to provide a safe, supportive environment for residential students 24/7. You will monitor health, wellbeing and behaviour, and liaise with students, parents and school staff to identify needs and respond appropriately.

The role requires experience with adolescents in boarding settings, a current First Aid certification, and a valid Working with Children Blue Card. Accommodation is not provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working with adolescents in boarding settings or similar environment.
• Ability to monitor wellbeing, health and behaviour.
• Strong communication with students, families and staff.
• Commitment to safety and compliance with policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 pastoral care and supervision for residential students.
• Monitor wellbeing, behaviour and health and enforce residential rules.
• Plan activities supporting social, personal and educational development.
• Maintain a safe, caring residential environment and coordinate with school staff.
