Job summary

Evergreen Life Care in West Gosford is seeking a dedicated Chef to join our Hotel Services team in a permanent part-time role. You will provide residents and visitors with a person-centred, nutritious dining experience aligned with our HEART values and mission.

This hands-on position covers morning and evening shifts across the main kitchen and on-site cafe, with supervision of food safety, ordering, stock control and documentation to support residents' independence and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery is required.
• Knowledge of Food Safety Principles.
• Knowledge of Work Health & Safety Principles.
• Knowledge of nutrition principles.
• Understanding of the IDDSI framework.
• Experience in catering, preferably aged care.
• Experience in training staff.
• Experience in stock handling and ordering.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to resident privacy and safe practices.
• Current National Criminal Record Check or willingness to obtain one.
• Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical.

Responsibilities

• Work across the main kitchen and on-site cafe.
• Produce and present high-quality food and beverages to residents.
• Maintain a high level of customer service for residents and staff.
• Complete food safety audits and record temperatures.
• Assist with ordering and stock control under the manager.
• Complete digital documentation and food processing tasks.
• Supervise kitchen operations and storage of meals.
• Ensure food safety standards and take corrective action when needed.
