Job summary

Sabre Recruiting is seeking a Research Technician in Sydney to prepare samples, perform testing, document procedures and report results. You will assist with lab maintenance and ensure compliance with safety, quality and regulatory standards, including supporting NATA accreditation activities.

You will coordinate routine testing programs, analyse results, and generate comprehensive reports while collaborating with stakeholders to deliver accurate, timely outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a testing laboratory.
• High attention to detail with good observational and recording skills.
• Accountable and a self-starter who takes pride in their work.
• Strong written and verbal communication and a team player.
• The ability to collect, analyse and present data.
• Familiarity with universal testing including tension/compression/bending testing.
• Knowledge of construction materials or building products testing (highly regarded).
• Knowledge of statistics and data analysis; repeatability and reproducibility studies and design of experiments (highly regarded).
• Working in testing facility with quality accreditation such as a NATA accredited facility, and familiarity with the associated quality management standards (highly regarded).

Responsibilities

• Prove the mechanical and structural performance of products
• Systematic testing, analysis of test results and provision of comprehensive test reports
• Work in accordance with laboratory quality guidelines
• Assist in coordinating routine maintenance and calibration of equipment and general operations of mechanical laboratory
• Confirm compliance of new and existing products/systems to relevant local building codes and manufacturing standards via testing programs
• Ensure the maintenance of laboratory documentation and records in accordance with the quality management system as required by the laboratory NATA accreditation
• Work collaboratively with various stakeholders, understanding their expectations and working with them to provide suitable results
• Assist with other general testing and project support work, as required, including sampling, analytical testing, and data collection
• Comply with any reasonable request related to health and safety including attending health and safety related training and participating in health and safety initiatives

Job description

You will assist with the general maintenance and upkeep of the testing laboratory and equipment, and ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with safety, quality and regulatory requirements, including supporting the maintenance of laboratory NATA accreditation.
