Job summary

Protest People, part of the PTG Group, seeks a Brisbane Laboratory Technician with 3+ years as a Soil Technician to perform field and lab CMT testing across various methods in line with Australian Standards.

You will complete production-level lab tests, train in test methods, maintain equipment, and liaise with staff and clients while supporting a quality-driven laboratory team.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to operate MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Teamwork and the ability to work unsupervised when required.

Responsibilities

• Undertake field and laboratory testing across methods including Australian Standards.
• Complete laboratory testing at production level.
• Undertake training in test methods.
• Follow procedures directed by Laboratory Manager.
• Prepare worksheets and verify measurements and calculations of test results.
• Maintain, clean and test equipment; keep area tidy.
• Liaise with internal staff and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Technician at our Brisbane Laboratory we will require you to:

Undertake both field and laboratory testing across a broad range of methods, including but not limited to Australian Standards

Complete laboratory testing at the required production level

Undertake training in test methods

Follow procedures directed by the Laboratory Manager

Prepare worksheets checking measurements and calculations of test results of other technicians

Maintain, clean and test equipment while keeping work area tidy

Liaise with internal staff and clients

About You:

You will be self-motivated, a fast learner and bring a positive attitude to the team. We are ideally looking for technicians or trainees who possess:

Good knowledge of Microsoft office Suite (Outlook, Word and Excel)

The ability to work flexible hours and travel for work when required

Strong communication and problem-solving skills

The ability to work under pressure, show initiative, prioritise and schedule work

The ability to be a team player and work unsupervised

A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Soil Technician

Qualifications

Certificate 3 or 4 in Construction Materials Testing

Nuclear Gauge License or willing to obtain
