Job summary

The University of Sydney invites applications for a Full-time, fixed-term role until March 2029: Faculty Research Infrastructure Officer in FMH. You will provide administrative and technical support to researchers and help optimise the faculty’s research infrastructure.

You will assist with equipment grant applications, pre- and post-award management, and contribute to change programs to improve utilization of equipment and space across FMH.

• Numeracy skills with expenditure reconciliation.
• Project management experience.
• Experience developing protocols and manuals per regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• help identify core research equipment infrastructure for the Faculty of Medicine and Health, including establishing technological priorities for shared use
• collate information to establish an inventory of FMH level equipment with purchase, commissioning, operational management, repair, and decommissioning details
• provide support related to the implementation of change programs and strategic reviews for improving the utilisation of Faculty’s research equipment and space
• coordinates and supports the FMH researchers participating in the SBA program, including planning, resource allocation and implementation
• complete data collection for auditing / cataloguing assets / research equipment and hazardous materials/chemicals for FMH research space if required
• apply sound technical knowledge and awareness for equipment operations and maintenance
• work with the research support teams to prepare submissions and applications to secure funding for research infrastructure.
