Job summary

The University of Sydney is seeking a Faculty Research Infrastructure Officer to provide administrative and technical support to FMH researchers. The role helps develop, maintain and optimise research infrastructure and prepare competitive equipment grant applications.

Qualifications

• experience in research-intensive environments or research facilities
• demonstrated administrative and communications skills
• ability to travel within multiple sites within precincts
• numeracy skills with expenditure reconciliation
• demonstrated project management skills
• experience with developing protocols and manuals to regulatory standards
• ability to interpret and implement policy and procedures

Responsibilities

• help identify core research equipment infrastructure and priorities for shared use
• collate information to inventory FMH level equipment with purchase, commissioning and maintenance details
• support change programs and strategic reviews to improve equipment and space utilisation
• coordinate and support SBA program participants including planning and resource allocation
• complete data collection for auditing assets, equipment and hazardous materials
• apply technical knowledge for equipment operations and maintenance
• work with research support teams to prepare funding submissions for infrastructure
