Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) invites applications for a Research Development and Governance Officer at Nepean Hospital. You will coordinate ethics and governance processes, provide expert advice, training and ongoing support to researchers to ensure compliant delivery of health and medical research.

As a key leader, you will drive improvements in governance systems, manage complex issues, and contribute to NBMLHD’s research operations, aligning activities with regulatory

Qualifications

• A degree in Health, Social Science or relevant field or equivalent experience in Research Ethics, Governance, Research Administration or other highly regulated environments or a combination of both.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Health and Medical research within a health services environment, including certification of Good Clinical Practice.
• Sound understanding of the legislation, codes and guidelines relevant to research ethics and governance of research conduct in Australia.
• Demonstrated proficient experience providing administrative and Secretariat support, including agendas, minutes, and high-quality reports.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, including interpretation of documents, contracts or compliance materials.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate research ethics and governance processes while providing expert advice, education, training and ongoing support to researchers and stakeholders.
• Drive process improvements and manage the resolution of complex issues related to ethics and governance requirements.
• Contribute to the enhancement of systems, processes and practices within NBMLHD’s research operations.
• Ensure all research activities align with regulatory, ethical and organisational standards.
