Metso is seeking a Repairs Technician to join our Tomago workshop, focusing on refurbishment and service of Metso OEM equipment components, complete machines and spare parts. You will work onsite reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, collaborating with a strong team and mentoring apprentices.

The role requires trade certificates and experience with OEM equipment, machining, and safety. This position offers a competitive base salary and benefits aligned with skills and experience, plus

Qualifications

• Relevant trade certificate or equivalent is required.
• Current driver’s license is essential.
• Strong communication skills are required for workshop coordination.
• Experience working on OEM equipment in a workshop setting is preferred.
• Experience machining small and large parts to tight tolerances is desirable.
• Forklift and Dogman certificates are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist tradesmen with strip, assess, and rebuild of Metso fixed plant equipment components.
• Move between tasks to meet production schedules.
• Operate manual lathes and milling machines.
• Train and mentor apprentices.
• Record, analyse and inform QA personnel about production quality.
• Communicate status and progress of customer requirements.

Job description

We are seeking a Repairs Technician to join our team in Tomago. You will be responsible for component refurbishment and service activities relating to Metso OEM equipment components, complete machines and spare parts.

This position is located onsite in Tomago and you will report to the Workshop Supervisor.

You will join a strong workshop team who work well together.

What you’ll do

• Assist other Tradesmen to undertake strip and assess and then rebuild of Metso fixed plant equipment including, but not limited to crushers, crushercomponents, screens and screen parts, gearboxes, conveyor pulleys and drives, hydraulic units, slurry pumps, rail car and dumper components.
• Move from one task to another as required to meet production schedules.
• Work on manual lathes and milling machines.
• Train and mentor apprentices
• Records, analyses and informs relevant personnel of production quality assurance
• Informs of status and disposition of customer requirements specific to job progress and status.

Who you are

• Relevant Trade Certificate
• Current drivers licence
• Good communication skills
• Workshop experience working on OEM equipment
• Experience in machining small and large parts to tight tolerances
• Forklift Certificate.
• Dogman Certificate
• Knoweldge with screens/pumps/crushers will be an advantage.
