Metso is seeking a driven Mechanical Fitter to join the Tomago Workshop team. You will repair, refurbish, assemble and maintain mining equipment, working alongside experienced tradespeople in a modern, safety-focused workshop.

You’ll read engineering drawings, diagnose issues and contribute to continuous improvement while delivering quality workmanship and collaborating with planning, engineering and field teams.

Competenze

• Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter or equivalent qualification.
• Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Current driver's licence.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical.

About the Role

As a Fitter in our Tomago Workshop, you will be responsible for the repair, refurbishment, assembly and maintenance of a wide range of mining equipment and components. You'll work alongside experienced tradespeople and leaders who are committed to helping you grow your skills and progress your career.

This role reports to the Workshop Supervisor and offers the opportunity to work in a modern workshop environment with a strong focus on safety, teamwork and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out assembly, overhaul and repair of mechanical equipment and components
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Diagnose equipment issues and identify practical solutions
• Complete quality inspections and ensure work is completed to Metso standards
• Work collaboratively with workshop, planning and engineering teams
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and workshop safety

What We're Looking For

Essential

• Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter or equivalent qualification
• Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices

• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
• Current driver's licence
