Job summary

Metso in Tomago is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join the Tomago Workshop team in NSW. You will be responsible for the repair, refurbishment, assembly and maintenance of mining equipment and components, working alongside experienced tradespeople to grow your skills and build a long-term career with a global leader.

You will interpret drawings, diagnose issues and contribute to continuous improvement in a modern workshop focused on safety, teamwork and high-quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as Mechanical Fitter or equivalent required.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Commitment to safety and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Carry out assembly, overhaul and repair of mechanical equipment and components
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Diagnose equipment issues and identify practical solutions
• Complete quality inspections and ensure work is completed to Metso standards
• Work collaboratively with workshop, planning and engineering teams
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and workshop safety
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
• Contribute to a positive team culture and support fellow team members
