Job summary

Outback Stores is seeking a passionate Training Officer to join our People & Culture team at the Darwin Support Office. You will deliver and assess accredited retail training programs to help local store staff develop skills, confidence and career opportunities, with travel to remote communities up to a week.

You will work with Store Managers and the Training team, provide face-to-face and virtual training, maintain records in VETtrak, and support compliance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
• SIR40316 Certificate IV in Retail Management.
• Strong training, assessment, mentoring and coaching skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working with Indigenous communities preferred.
• Willingness to travel to remote communities up to a week at a time.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and assess accredited retail training programs in remote Aboriginal communities.
• Provide engaging face-to-face and virtual training and support.
• Monitor trainee progress and support trainees to complete training.
• Conduct LLN assessments and provide learning support.
• Work with Store Managers to identify and recruit potential trainees.
• Plan and coordinate training visits in line with program requirements.
• Support VET in Schools through school visits and practical training.
• Maintain accurate trainee records using VETtrak.
• Support training compliance, validation and continuous improvement activities.
• Contribute to improved training resources and delivery methods.
