Job summary

Alteryx ANZ Pty Limited seeks a Senior Manager, Software Engineering to lead a large, multidisciplinary engineering team building and operating AI-powered analytics products used by customers worldwide. You will lead a remote team of 10+ engineers across Australia, spanning backend, frontend, full-stack, data science, and platform engineering.

The role focuses on building teams and delivering outcomes through others, not hands-on coding.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience owning and delivering mission-critical software platforms.
• Proven engineering manager with outcomes across multiple teams.
• Experience with distributed systems, cloud services, and production infrastructure.
• Strong engineering judgment across architecture, data flows, performance, reliability, and security.
• Experience automating testing, CI/CD, observability, and secure development practices.
• Track record of coaching engineers and developing technical leaders.
• Ability to influence product and engineering strategy across multiple teams.
• Experience navigating ambiguity and organizational change with clarity.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary team of engineers, including hiring and performance management.
• Shape product and technical strategy with Product Management and translate priorities into roadmaps.
• Deliver across complex, cross-functional dependencies with transparency and delivery effectiveness.
• Guide architectural consistency and review proposals across backend, frontend, data, and cloud infrastructure.
• Own operational outcomes for reliability, scalability, security, cost, observability, and technical debt.
