Job summary

Xero in Sydney is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Applied AI team. You will lead the Internal AI Accelerator, shaping strategy, delivery, and roadmaps for agentic AI workflows that reduce toil and speed up decision-making across major business units.

You will partner with finance, IT, HR and other stakeholders to build reusable AI patterns, governance, and scalable architectures, driving rapid delivery with an emphasis on safety and governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Internal AI Accelerator team as it scales from PoC to scale.
• Own the strategy, delivery, and roadmap for AI workflows that reduce toil and accelerate decision-making.
• Partner with business leaders across G&A, Finance, P&C, and IT to co-build reusable AI patterns and governance frameworks.
• Set the pace, unblock the path, and ensure the team ships reliably.
• Collaborate with product, engineering and business teams to design and ship AI workflows in weeks, not months.
